Here's a breakdown of the different scale & vehicle classes of RC Rally

This is only a guide to give you an idea of the different size RC Rally vehicles we are running and how we are planning to separate them for group events and races.

Group Scale Classes:

1/8- Due to size, this includes cars such as the Associated ProRally, Traxxas SCT based rally cars, HPI WR8's, Kyosho DRX, or other similar sized platforms. (Approx. 324mm wheelbase & 281mm width)

1/10- This includes 1/10 scale on road touring cars or other similar sized platforms. (Approx. 257mm wheelbase & 190mm width)

1/12- This includes a chassis smaller than a 1/10 scale platform, including Tamiya M cars, 1/12 scale Tacon, or other similar sized platform. (Approx. 225mm wheelbase & 170mm width)

Micro (1/14,1/16,1/18) - This includes cars such as the Traxxas La Trax, Dromida, or other similar sized platforms.  (Approx. 165mm wheelbase & 130mm width)

New Group rules for Point to Point Stage Rally events effective 1/19/2018

Point to Point Scale Rally Stage Rules

  • Must look like a rally vehicle, the more realistic the better. This rule does not apply for vehicles in an open class.

  • No motor or ESC limit.

  • 2s lipo or equivalent voltage battery.

  • If possible, cars must be driven, unassisted from the Parc Expose, through the arch, and up to the starting line of each stage. This rule may not apply for every event due to the setup of the course in relation to the Parc Expose, Arch, and starting line.

  • You must marshal your own car during each stage. Outside interference will result in a time penalty.

  • Cars must be driven under its own power through the entire stage and through the finish line. Cars can be turned back on its wheels by hand if flipped over.  Cars direction may be corrected by hand if caught on a course marker, in deep dirt, if parts such as steering components break, etc. during a run, as long as the car is driven under the power of its motor through the entire stage and through the finish line.

  • If a car breaks while on the course, either you can take a DNF or if repairs can be made within 5 mins, it must be driven through the finish line under its motors power to complete the stage.

  • The car, including chassis and body used at registration, must be used in all stages of a particular event. If a car breaks and cannot be repaired, a backup car can be used, but any runs with the backup car cannot be tallied with runs of the car that was initially registered and was unable to be repaired. Basically, all times will be tallied with the car that ran them and final results cannot be averaged with multiple cars by one driver in one class.

  • Tires can be changed or altered in between stages. Tires and wheels must be similar in appearance to real 1:1 scale rally vehicles.  For tarmac courses, no slick tires or dish style wheels allowed.

  • No cutting sections of a stage allowed. Time penalties will be given for obvious cutting of any section(s) of a stage.
